Most of us try to be specific in searches applying the trick of enclosing the search string in quotes and some others of us try putting a plus sign (+) in front of the search terms in the search string. There are many more simple tricks which can be used while performing the searches on google to get the better and more specific information of use.

Booleans are friend

When performing searches we usually try typing the words, phrases that we want to search. Google search engine considers that you want search all the terms or words you specified in the search string. For eg. if you type tips "SQL Server" Oracle as a search string it is same as typing tips AND "SQL Server" AND Oracle. If you want to search sites with tips on SQL Server or tips on Oracle you can try tips OR "SQL Server" OR "Oracle". You can be more specific by surrounding the search terms in parenthesis. For eg. tips("SQL Server" OR Oracle) will be same as searching tips AND "SQL Server" OR tips AND Oracle.
